President-elect Trump’s pick for the Department of Defense, Pete Hegseth’s hearing began Tuesday, Jan. 14. Hegseth says he will be a “change agent” for the Pentagon. Hegseth has been questioned over his fitness for the role, accusations of excessive drinking and sexual misconduct, his opposition to diversity initiatives in the military and his stances on women in the military. Hegseth was also questioned about his focus on lethality and commitment to the “war fighters” and his support of Israel in its war against Hamas militants.
